ABOUT

We want to lead the way in Scotland raising awareness of the benefits of a regular Initiated Laughter and Laughter Yoga practice. Being recognised for our innovative and inclusive approach to wellbeing. We aim to create a ripple effect of joy and health by certifying individuals and centres as Initiated Laughter advocates, enabling them to spread the benefits of Initiated Laughter and Laughter Yoga within their communities. By incorporating laughter into daily life and providing tools for self-intervention, our goal is to help people recognise and cherish the small moments of joy. Small changes with monumental impact.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Acting and a PGCE in Education from Strathclyde University. Since 2009, I have been dedicated to supporting Scotland’s young people, helping them build confidence and become highly effective communicators. I am also a certified Usui Reiki Master, and since 2017, I have been working as a holistic teacher, witnessing the healing transformations that occur when clients find empowerment on their inner journey.

At Mrs MacLaughter, we promote the transformative power of Initiated Laughter to enhance overall wellbeing both emotional and physical. We are committed to raising awareness about the range of health benefits gained from a good long hearty laugh, demonstrating these benefits through our engaging workshops. Mrs MacLaughter's goal is to empower individuals and communities across Scotland to harness the joy and resilience that laughter brings, fostering an environment where everyone can experience the healing power of laughter.

"I wholeheartedly believe that Laughter is food for the soul and that it has the power to transform lives.

My journey began in 2011, after my successful battle with Small Cell Cervical Cancer. This life changing event made me realise the importance of prioritising my wellbeing. The creation of Mrs MacLaughter coincides with celebrating my 40th birthday, I think it is a poignant symbol resilience and a reminder of how laughter can help us even in the toughest of times.

Discovering Laughter Yoga as part of my own holistic journey felt like the final piece of the puzzle. Beginning as a certified Laughter Yoga Leader and then becoming a certified and accredited Laughter Yoga Teacher which in turn led to the creation of Mrs MacLaughter - Scotland’s Initiated Laughter Advocate; helping others live vibrant and joyful lives by using Initiated Laughter (Laughter Yoga) and other wellbeing tools to support their overall health .

Throughout my career, it has been my honour to work with diverse individuals in various settings, including one-to-one sessions, large groups, and assemblies. These experiences shape the workshops and programmes I create, ensuring that attendees are actively engaged and empowered.

We offer a range of workshops and programmes designed to enhance emotional and physical wellbeing through the healing power of laughter. We provide MacWellbeing S.E.L.K.I.E certifications to those who work with us in recognition and celebration of their efforts to empower themselves and others through laughter-based practices.

It is a fun and easy way of restoring balance when life gets stressful or hectic.

While laughter can’t remove difficulties from our lives, it can provide respite and build resilience."
