Here at Mrs MacLaughter, we like to celebrate and recognise the achievements made by those we work with. We have launched our new initiative to help us do this more effectively. There are three categories of awards:

S.E.L.K.I.E Initiated Laughter Explorers Certificate: Celebrates the achievements of children and young people, recognising that they have explored Initiated Laughter for their wellbeing.
S.E.L.K.I.E Initiated Laughter Advocate Certificate: Celebrates the achievements of individual adults, recognising that they have begun their Initiated Laughter for wellbeing journey.
S.E.L.K.I.E Initiated Laughter MacSeal of Approval: Recognises centres, organisations, and partners by awarding them S.E.L.K.I.E Approved Centre status. This celebrates the work they are doing to support and introduce their community to the benefits of Initiated Laughter for improved wellbeing.

We are excited and honoured to share with you the details of our new MacWellbeing award initiative here at Mrs MacLaughter.

All of our workshops and programmes now have the MacWellbeing S.E.L.K.I.E Values embedded at their core.

We choose to create an acronym of the word S.E.L.K.I.E as it conveys our core client values, reflects our Scottish roots and underscores our wellbeing position in a modern Scotland.

In Scotland the Selkie has been both a myth and a legend and now it is also part of the MacLaughter legacy.

In Scottish folklore, Selkie's are magical beings who transform from seals to humans symbolising the power of transformation.

Selkies have inspired tales for generations, representing the magic of change and the longing for freedom.

Mrs MacLaughter has reimagined the Selkie as a reflection of our core client values. Drawing on the myth and legend, we have created a wellbeing legacy where S.E.L.K.I.E symbolises the strength gained when we embrace all aspects of self. At Mrs MacLaughter, we strive for emotional and energetic balance, creating joy through laughter, and supporting wellbeing within our communities—all of which are fully embodied in our acronym of S.E.L.K.I.E.
